ALPHA PHI FOUNDATION
In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women's fraternities to establish a Foundation. Demonstrating the philanthropic spirit of love and charity intended by our Founders, the Foundation was created as a trust to award grants specifically for scholarship and cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities of Alpha Phi Foundation remain. The Foundation is well known and respected internationally as a prominent philanthropic leader in the Greek community. We completed a ten million dollar campaign for leadership in 2010, the largest in National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) history.

THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
With an emphasis on women's heart health, The Alpha Phi Foundation works closely with that of The American Heart Association. The Alpha Phi Foundation plays an important role in informing its members about the importance of heart health. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in North America and the Alpha Phi Foundation thought it would be fitting to work with an international organization of women to help fight it.

We support the American Heart Association by volunteering at the Baltimore Heart Walk every fall!
OUR PHILANTHROPIC WORK
As a chapter, we pride ourselves on our contribution to our philanthropy. Every year we host our annual Red Dress Gala. Sisters invite their family and friends to come support of our chapter and women's heart health. The event included silent auctions, live auctions, raffles, dinner and more! This past year we raised almost $13,000 from this event, in one night!
In addition, Alpha Phi hosted our first ever Heart Week to raise money and awareness for our philanthropy! At Green Turtle, we hosted a Mac & Phi’s fundraiser, where students could join us for an unlimited mac and cheese, and toppings bar. At Burdick, sisters of Alpha Phi and members of other Greek organizations participated in a Zumba class to raise heart awareness. We also hosted our annual “Alpha Phifa,” a soccer tournament that both sororities and fraternities at Towson can participate in.
This upcoming spring we will be raising money for our philanthropy through our Wing Bowl. Sororities and fraternities create teams to compete in a wing eating competition all in the spirit of philanthropy.
